El Diablo's Neil tells us he thinks "Love Cry" is pretty Balearic. Well I don't know about that, but we can safely say it's Four Tet exploring a different direction since his last 12" with Burial. With a 4/4 beat akin to Moodymann's "City" (live, shuffled, with syncopated woodblocks and open hi-hats) and warm, flowing pads and melodies quietly accompanying the track's digital computer style effects and glitches; we have here a sound that is distinctly Four Tet but taking influences from current sounds like Floating Points and the UK funky groove template.
